Penhaligon's The Omniscient Mr Thompson is a woody oriental eau de parfum for men, part of the distinctive Portraits collection. This fragrance balances powdery orris and spice with a creamy sesame-vanilla base, creating a refined and characterful scent profile.

  • Fragrance Family: Woody Oriental
  • Top Notes: Lavendin, Pink Pepper, Elemi
  • Heart Notes: Geranium, Black Pepper, Orris
  • Base Notes: Vanilla, Sesame Seed Accord, Oak Wood

The scent opens with bright aromatic spices before developing into a warm, subtly gourmand drydown. A unique sesame milk accord provides a toasted, nutty creaminess that complements the powdery iris and rich vanilla.

Housed in a heavy glass bottle with dark gradient liquid, the design is crowned by a sculptural metallic gold elephant-head cap, a signature element of the Portraits series. The packaging includes an illustrated presentation box featuring artwork consistent with the collection's whimsical aesthetic.

This eau de parfum offers moderate sillage and is well-suited for evening wear, formal events, and cooler seasons such as autumn and winter. It appeals to those seeking a sophisticated, less generic woody-vanilla composition with mysterious depth.
