Balms

Nourishing balms for lips, body and dry patches.

Balms: multi-purpose comfort for lips, skin and body

Balms are rich, comforting textures that soothe, protect and nourish. Their dense, waxy or buttery formulas create a protective layer that locks in moisture, making them ideal for dry lips, rough patches, cuticles, elbows, heels and skin exposed to cold weather. Cleansing balms also melt away makeup gently. A good balm is one of the most versatile products in your beauty bag.

Types of balm

• Lip balms: protect and soften dry, chapped lips.
• Multi-purpose balms: for lips, cheeks, cuticles and dry spots.
• Repair and barrier balms: soothe very dry or irritated skin.
• Cleansing balms: melt makeup and sunscreen.
• Baby balms: gentle protection for delicate skin.

Ways to use a balm

1. Apply to lips before bed for an overnight treatment.
2. Massage into cuticles to keep nails neat.
3. Pat onto dry patches on elbows, knees and heels.
4. Dab onto cheekbones for a natural glow.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between a balm and a cream?

Balms contain little or no water, so they're richer and more protective; creams are lighter and absorb faster.

Can I use a balm on my face?

Yes, on dry areas, but oily or blemish-prone skin may prefer lighter textures.
